Your data belongs to you. ShopKatalog makes it easy to export, backup, and download all your business information at any time. This guide shows you how to export different types of data in various formats.

Export all your data in one comprehensive file:
How to Export All Data
- Log into your ShopKatalog account
- Go to Account Settings → Privacy & Data
- Click "Download My Data" button
- Select export format (JSON, CSV, or ZIP)
- Choose time period (last 30 days, 90 days, all time)
- Click "Prepare Export"
- You'll receive an email within a few minutes with download link
- Download link is valid for 7 days

Export Specific Data
Products Export
Export your product catalog:
- Go to Products → Product List
- Click "Export Products" button
- Select format (CSV or JSON)
- Choose filters (category, status, date range)
- Click "Download"
Includes: Product name, description, price, category, stock, images, created date, updated date
Orders Export
Export your order history:
- Go to Orders → Order Management
- Click "Export Orders" button
- Select date range
- Choose format (CSV or JSON)
- Select which columns to include
- Click "Download"
Includes: Order ID, customer name, contact info, items, total amount, payment status, order date, delivery status
Customers Export
Export your customer list:
- Go to Customers → Customer List
- Click "Export Customers" button
- Select filters (purchase status, date range)
- Choose format (CSV or JSON)
- Click "Download"
Includes: Customer name, email, phone, address, total purchases, last order date
Reviews Export
Export customer reviews and ratings:
- Go to Products → Reviews
- Click "Export Reviews" button
- Select filters (rating, date range)
- Choose format (CSV or JSON)
- Click "Download"
Importing Exported Data
You can re-import exported data to ShopKatalog or use it with other tools:
Import Products from CSV
- Go to Products → Product List
- Click "Import Products" button
- Select your CSV file
- Map columns (name, price, category, etc.)
- Preview import
- Click "Import" to add products
⚠️ CSV Format: CSV must include headers. Required columns: product_name, price. Optional: description, category, stock, images
Import to Other Platforms
Your exported CSV files work with many platforms:
- Google Sheets, Excel, LibreOffice - Open and edit CSV directly
- WooCommerce, Shopify - Use import tools with CSV files

Data Backup Best Practices
Backup Schedule
- •Weekly: Export complete data every week
- •Before Major Changes: Export before inventory updates, price changes, or bulk deletions

Storage Best Practices
- Store backups in multiple locations (local computer, cloud, external drive)

Steps to Migrate
- Export Data: Go to Privacy & Data → Download My Data. Export in the format your new platform supports
- Verify Export: Open the exported files to ensure all data is present and correct
- Check Compatibility: Confirm the new platform can import your data format
- Test Import: Try importing a small sample first to verify mapping
- Full Migration: Once tested, import your complete data
- Verify Integrity: Check that all data migrated correctly
- Close Account: After verification, you can close your ShopKatalog account

Large Shop Guidance
If your shop is very large (10,000+ products or 100,000+ orders):
- • Export data by category or date range
- • Use CSV format instead of JSON (smaller)
- • Contact support@shopkatalog.com for assistance
Download Link Expiration
- • Export links valid for: 7 days
- • Multiple downloads: Allowed
- • Re-request: Generate new export anytime
Common Questions
Is there a cost to export data?
No! Data export is completely free and unlimited. You can export data as often as you need.
Can I export images with products?
Yes! Choose ZIP archive format to include product images. Individual CSV/JSON exports include image URLs instead of files.
How long does the export take?
Most exports complete within 5-10 minutes. Large shops (10,000+ products) may take up to 1 hour. You'll receive an email with the download link.
Can I export only certain date ranges?
Yes! When exporting individual data types (orders, customers), you can select specific date ranges to limit the export.
Are exports encrypted?
Exports are transmitted securely via HTTPS. The files themselves are not encrypted, but you can password-protect ZIP files.
